Dear Reader,

In today’s highly networked world, information in the form of digital bits needs to navigate its way through many different networks, before it is eventually reassembled at its destination. Information traverses wireless, wireline, Broadband and narrowband media. In a way, how connected people are is a function of how well this connectivity is built. The release of the first Building Wiring Standard in the early 90’s by The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), established some transformational standards in the design, installation, and performance requirements for telecommunications cabling systems in commercial buildings. Since then, standards have enabled our industry to grow based on robust foundations.

Often enterprise networking is visualized as something that happens exclusively in an office environment. However, a sizeable number of industrial shop-floors work in a computerized environment and cabling products and techniques for an industrial facility need to comply with special networking requirements. The article on industrial cabling should help you assess this difference to performance in an industrial environment

In a multiple operator scenario, transport networks rely heavily on Fibre. The need for increasing reliability typically calls for monitoring and accessing of fibre, including splitting or multiplexing/demultiplexing of optical signals. Monitoring enables service providers to troubleshoot networks without forcing disruption of services. Splitting allows for the distribution of signals to multiple subscribers. Read about how ADC’s VAM Modules facilitate this.

Our forthcoming issues will cover some of our innovative Wireless solutions addressing coverage & capacity challenges.

Thankfully, with expert advice from ADC KRONE, choosing the best network infrastructure is not as difficult & complicated as choosing the next government at the upcoming general elections!!

Happy reading!!
