Dear Reader,

The wheels of change challenge the status quo and forces societies and countries to transform or loose out. Change is knocking on the doors of the building industry and the facilities management fraternity today. At least 3 Indian metros figure in the global list of cities with high office absorption. These are in excess of 10 mio Sq.ft per year in each of them.

While people, raw-materials, capital & land are only sources to create economic value the enablers of economic value are workforce, workplace, process & automation. Because of the distributed workplace and workforce the challenge is not how to manage computing power, or connectivity but to manage productivity in an environment of unstructured growth. With more and more intelligence being built into enterprises and homes the chances of chaos are high if not planned & designed properly. And Information Technology plays a vital role in all of these.

To leverage IT better, these are times when professionals in the Architecture, Consulting & Engineering community involved in building new-age infrastructure come closer to understand how Network Infrastructure can support better facilities management. Today networking and cabling infrastructure is a part of every business and needs to last a lifespan of at least 7-10 years. One way to achieve this is by thinking about it right from when you conceive the building design.

ADC KRONE recognises this need and PACE is our attempt to empower members of this professional group with appropriate tools that will assist them in meeting these new challenges. We are happy to announce the launch of PACE - a web-forum of ADC KRONE for Professionals, Architects & Consulting Engineers - that has a wealth of information and tools which allow the freedom to invest in products and solutions that will meet the exact requirements of customers in this community and also integrate seamlessly into the building execution.

At the other end of the spectrum is the talk of Next Generation Networks. We believe that Fibre - both Core & FTTX - are important elements of NGN as rapid changes are underway in both the central office and the outside plant. There are more optical fibre terminations and new electronics to manage in the central office as fibre goes deeper into the network. ADC KRONE offers a complete end-to-end network infrastructure for these Next-generation fibre networks.

While you are amidst fireworks and lamps, ADC KRONE is pleased to launch these two initiatives to benefit customers like you!!

Greetings for the festive season!
